Does Radio Heatherwood Offer Work Experience ?

Radio Heatherwood relies on the good will of it's volunteers to turn up week in week out. During this time they may also be called upon to train long term volunteers. Yearly intake of work experience trainees would put a burden on the volunteers who are already very busy. We operate with a very small voluntary staff and therefore cannot offer work experience as an option, at this moment in time.

Why Do I Need To Live And Work Within Ten Miles Of The Hospital ?

Experience has shown us, local traffic problems will prevent you arriving in the evening for 6.15pm if you have some large distance to travel from your place of work or home. Volunteers who have already arrived are frustrated by the late arrival of others who may be stuck in traffic. In addition other hospital radio's of adjoining hospitals would not be pleased if we poached their potential recruits. If you do live and work beyond the ten mile radius and you apply, your application will be refused.

Do You Charge Membership Fees ?

Radio Heatherwood does not charge membership fee's.

Can I Download and Post My Application Form ?

There is an option to download a form and can this be filled out in in your own time. If you complete the postal version, do make sure you have answered all questions on the application form, as failure to do so could mean rejection.

What Voluntary Positions Do You Offer ?

The hospital radio service only offers voluntary positions for presenters. We have no other voluntary positions available as we are only a small voluntary group.
