Studio 1976
to
1983
 |
The original studio
room was only 12ft x 12ft any expansion plans for the studio was
restricted by the fact the adjoining room was the equipment room for the
switchboard and the other wall was an outside wall. Tucked at the end of
the corridor on the ground floor of Maternity we were limited to what we
could achieve. |

In January 1983 changes
were made to the library rack taking out the right hand at the end and
just having a straight rack along the length of the wall. This gave more
space to hold records on the Dexion shelves. This move was carried out by
Dave And PJ. |
All Change

Studio 1983
to
1984
 |
The studio
complex was added to when the hospital switchboard moved to a new
location. The studio was increased in size to 12ft x 20ft. This addition
prompted the move of the main mixer into the new room and to be the new
studio 1. The vacated room would initially be used as library space. Later
it was designated as studio two and an attempt was made to create one.
|
Studio One 1983
 |
The creation
of studio one was completed in March 1983. The picture across
Richard Worrall And Peter Hewitt, appeared in the local press. Peter along
with his colleague Keith Jones undertook the move of the studio.
Bill Berry
founder member of the radio played a part in the creation of the new
studio. It was Bill who knocked the hole in the wall for the adjoining
window. On arriving at the studio one Saturday, a large hole was in the
wall with no glass. Very strange trying to produce a program with a voice
that echo's around the room as you speak. |
