Alun Jones
Alun Jones the local
reporter for the Ascot express had always been very supportive to our
ventures at the Radio. It was Alan's reports in the local papers that kept
up interest in the appeal and were it not for Alun we would have been a
lot poorer. Sadly Alun is no longer with us but his support for us will
never be forgotten.

The
appeal year proved one of the most stressful years ever; for the secretary
and manager.
We made
lots of new friends this year: with hindsight we would
probably have tackled some things differently, but at the end of the day:
we got there.
Inductive Loop Medium Wave Service
When it was quite clear
that the station would not be as it was, some presenters who failed to
follow in the steps of others at the station felt it was time to go.
On the 9th Jan 1988 we
closed the station. On that day all the old habits and practices of the
station would be killed off. All that was bad with the old station would
go.
