What Do The Listener's Think ?.Mary Chappell Says Thanks Radio Heatherwood September 2007The radio service recently received this complimentary email from Mary Chappell.
I am not normally a radio listener but during my stay in hospital I
found your station Brilliant with such a good selection of music and
comedy I found myself listening to it all day, I enjoyed tunes I hadn't
heard in years, makes a change from only having POP music most enjoyable
and relaxing. it made the time go better. who ever puts these programs
together is really talented and knows what is good listening. Margaret Jennings Thanks Radio Heatherwood December 2004To all the Dj's At Radio Heatherwood " Here's wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from Margaret on Ward 4 and who Is now at home recovering well from my hip replacement. In the ward 4 we all salute your many talents etc and pray they may continue with all new patients coming in for Christmas etc. I myself have had great pleasure in listening to all your team, so thanking you all. God Bless you all and have a lovely Christmas from Margaret Powditch and all the other very grateful patients in our lovely ward 4," The best ward in Heatherwood ". Margaret Powditch Ward 4.Alan Martin Writes August 2001It was my bad luck that I was in Heatherwood a week before having news of radio request service. Having spent twelve years in different hospitals it was good that I could lie in bed and enjoy my favourite music and being on my own with no visitors it was gratifying to be able remember my past life. I would like you to thank the staff of Radio Heatherwood for making life easier with the cooperation of playing some of my requests even though it was only two evenings before they kicked me out( joke ).
I know of only one name of the staff providing the request service. I only wish
I knew them all besides “ Laraine Bridges “. But being old in age but young at
heart and being A terrible flirt and being cheeky with it I wish I could visit
them all. Alan Martin Ward 10.Jeanette Mayo writes Mar 2001Thankyou card reads:- Your kindness meant more than you could know or more than a thank you could possibly show. Many Thanks. " Your hospital radio service was very much appreciated during my stay on ward 4 " Jeanette Mayo Ward 4.Gladys Halfacre writes Jan 1998I was in ward 10 and found one of your radio's in the locker. There were two Gladys's together I was Gladys 2 Gladys 1 had her favourite request of Frank Sinatra's My Way. I was lucky enough to have 4 requests played. When you came up with Eddie Calverts oh mein papa I was flabbergasted my father died in 1966 it was his favourite then, it was great to hear it again. If you've got to be in hospital: you can't beat Heatherwood and your radio service is the icing on the cake. Thanks to you all.Bert Whitfield writes Jan 1998
You are all doing a marvellous job. I know you are all volunteers, and it is so
